Wedding Bells & The Farmers Market
Last week was a busy week...especially dealing with a cold. That is the reason there was not a post last week. But I didn’t really have anything to write about, so there’s that. This past week was filled with seeing old friends, celebrating love, and all around good times.
I was very fortunate to see one of my bests friends get married. Everything about the wedding was amazing. One, she looked beyond gorgeous. The venue, food, decorations, and the music all made for a great way to celebrate her and her husband’s day. Another thing that made it special was being able to see friends I haven’t seen in a while. When I cheered in college I met some wonderful people. Who, not sure if they know, but helped me really feel comfortable enough to truly be myself. Now we all don’t talk all the time, but when we get together it is like nothing has changed. We danced, we laughed, we even took shots out of the trunk of a friends car. All in all, I would say that was a good night. To top it all off Texas Tech beat TCU!
So, for having this great experience, I thank Jordyn and Jeremy for allowing us to celebrate your special day!
Keeping with the wedding vibes. We were invited to an anniversary of some friends that I have recently met. It was their one-year anniversary and they had a get together at their home. It was nice to see a gay couple celebrate their love. One thing that tugged at the heartstrings was that their parents were there. The rest of the night was fun and of course, we finished the night at the Eagle.
Sunday, we were able to get together for brunch at a place in Deep Ellum called Vidorra. The place is super cute, the service was great, and the food was pretty tasty. We decided to walk off all the chips and salsa down in Deep Ellum. I always forget how much I like going down there. They have some really cute shops and another store that is pretty open, Leather Masters. We went into one shop that had a lot of things, in my opinion, are the things you need but never really think about. They had a lot of knick-knacks, lotions, candles, and coffee mugs. Another store was pretty much all things candy. Then the leather store is definitely for the more open-minded.
We finished up our day walking around the Farmers Market. This was my first time going and I am definitely a fan. The food smelled amazing, the little stores were really cute. Not going to lie, I had a full-on Diagon Alley moment. I will definitely be back to try some of the food.
Even though I wasn’t feeling the best, I was definitely grateful to be able to enjoy the time with some of the people that mean the most to me. I feel like I have reconnected with some and strengthen my current friendships. Definitely building a solid second family here in Dallas.
