Halloween 2018 Festivities

Busy month...but full of fun!

October 1st has arrived and you can already feel the weather getting a little cooler...but it is Texas so not by much. It is about that time to start getting your costumes together and yes..if you are in Dallas you might have more than one! This is one of my favorite months and from the looks of it, probably going to be the busiest. It is the kickoff for the holidays....yes I am jumping ahead, but it is the truth. This month is also pretty special because my friend says "I do" in a couple of weeks. Lastly, all the fun festivities that come with Halloween and everything leading up to it.

One of the activities that I have always enjoyed, even when I was younger, was to carve pumpkins. I am thinking a night in watching scary movies and carving pumpkins is definitely going to be on the agenda.

The following week is one of the events that make us know we are getting older. One of my best friends of 9 years is getting married. If I remember correctly, they actually met during Halloween, so that is pretty cool. I cannot wait for this moment and I will probably need some extra tissue.

At some point, I will definitely need to go to the State Fair! I have only been once, but I definitely want to make it more of a tradition. I mean, who doesn't love eating all the food and attempt to ride some of the rides! I am not sure I will be doing the rides, but yes...definitely the food.

The last two weekends of the month are when we get to dress up. Now for the last couple of years, I have always wanted to be a Cub Scout and for whatever reason, it didn't end up happening. One of the parties is a witch or wizard theme. After attending Leakycon, I am going to embrace my Hufflepuff-ness. The colors are going to be yellow and black. I need to make a cape and figure out what else I am going to wear. Let's be honest, it may or may not be a little slutty.

The following is Block Party on Cedar Springs, I will definitely not be going. Way too crowded! I will probably be at the Eagle...either dressed up in my wizard costume or scrounge up something last minute. Either way, I think I am going to enjoy this October in whatever I do.
